Loans
Health insurance companies pay a limited fixed amount towards the cost of your replacement teeth. If you have chosen a premium tooth replacement, there are options for getting a loan to cover your own share of the costs. We work together with the DZR (Deutsche zahnärztliches Rechenzentrum, a German dental finance company) to support patients with this. You profit from the wide range of services and the special conditions offered to dental patients by the DZR.
Partial payments
- Monthly instalments from as little as 25 Euros
- No interest or additional charges for repayment periods of up to 6 months
- Deferment option of one instalment for each year of the repayment period
- Additional voluntary payments or premature settlement of loan possible at any time and with no penalties
- Fast support with any accounting or remuneration questions

Additional insurance
Another way to reduce the costs incurred from dental treatment is to take out supplementary dental insurance (known as Zahnzusatzversicherung). The services covered differ between the insurance packages and some insurance plans not only cover the cost of tooth replacements but also services designed to preserve and prevent, such as fillings, root canal treatment or professional teeth cleaning. However, insurance companies often do not cover services which have already been scheduled or advised when you take out the insurance plan.
We advise that you compare insurance plans carefully and take professional advice before deciding. The insurance premiums and the range of services covered can vary significantly. In many cases, a qualifying period (waiting period) is applied before any costs submitted can be accepted.
Supplementary payments
Medically required fillings made of a composite material (ceramic-synthetic combination) are only partially paid for by statutory health insurance companies (gesetzliche Krankenkasse). The same applies to root canal treatment.
Before taking out additional dental insurance, always ask whether services such as these will be covered.
Your bonus booklet helps you to cut the costs. Fill in the booklet regularly, without gaps, for 5 or 10 years and the fixed amount paid by the health insurance company towards your tooth replacement costs will rise by 20% or 30%. Your dental practice will give you one stamp per year in your bonus booklet when you come for your annual check-up.
